Marmite - love it or hate it? You probably don't need a recipe for marmite on toast, but marmite deserves its place as a plant based food recommendation for its B12 content!

B12 is most commonly found in animal products, so being plant based requires you to think a little more about where you're getting it from. Don't worry though, there are plenty of plant based B12 sources!

Marmite on toast is one of my favourite breakfasts, and you can experiment with combinations like marmite & peanut butter or marmite and vegan cheese if you're feeling like trying something new!




Vegan butter/spread

Bread of choice (Sourdough is great!)


1. Toast the bread to your preference either in a toaster or under the grill.

2. Butter the toast. 

3. Spread a thin layer of marmite either completely over the toast, or in sporadic spots if you don't like It too strong! Eat as it is, or add cheese if you're feeling like something more substantial. 

I love putting marmite under my avocado on toast - it may sound weird but give it a try!
